Dr. Gross employs and has assisted in the development of techniques and equipment for minimally invasive spinal surgery. Specific examples of minimally invasive spine surgery include:

  • Minimally Invasive Microdiscectomy – This is a procedure performed though a 3/4 inch incision to free a pinched nerve. Often, this surgery can be done as an out patient procedure.

  • Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression – This procedure involves making more room for the entire nerve sac in the low back though a tiny incision (for each level).

  • Minimally Invasive Lumbar Fusion – In select cases, this smaller surgery provides a unique, but less destructive method to perform as compared to a more traditional fusion procedure.

  • Minimally Invasive Partial Cervical Discectom – For one sided arm pain, a pinched nerve can be releaved without neck fusion.
